Your request goes on the board with the day's tickets. I check messages between jobs, so you'll hear from me the same day, usually within a couple of hours.
When I call, I'll ask a few questions about the job, give you a price range over the phone if I can, and we'll pick a time. For most small jobs I quote a firm number on the spot when I see it, in writing, before any work starts.
